Outfit Repeater
Stop in the name of all things fashion! You’ve been caught. Who said you can't wear the same outfit twice? It’s 2023 and clothing waste is so out.
In the ever-changing world of fashion, it is important to stay true to oneself. and Yes, it’s fun to play around with new pieces, but who are you to get rid of that iconic set purchased two years ago and only wore once? Now is the time to put it back on and flare it up with touches personalized by the new you.
Outfit repeating is the new trend, where have you been?
If one day someone is wearing the most fabulous jacket you have seen, would you hate it the next day, or would you still be admiring the beauty of it? The only right answer here is admiration and if you disagree, well, you're just…wrong, sorry.
Even the most iconic fashion figure, Anna Wintour, has been caught repeating her red and black Lanvin dress at events just months apart. She isn’t the only one either, look at Kim Kardashian, who shared a look with mom of the year Kris Jenner when they wore the same lacy red number on different red carpets.
The media has fallen behind on the times with the idea that a repeat is so taboo. Vogue Editor in Chief, Anna Wintour said in an interview with The Cut, “It’s totally okay—I even recommend it.” in regards to outfit repeating, as she is an advocate herself for the so called faux pax. Shaking the community to the core, Cate Blanchett herself had a repeat when she wore her beautiful Givenchy gown to Cannes in 2018 and again on a red carpet in Berlin. As Cate proves, it is an outright crime to be caught with a perfectly good piece of clothing or outfit that has only gotten to be appreciated by the world once.
One time isn’t enough for someone to get the perfect fit pic, no matter how many angles you shoot at! Your outfits not only crave multiple full moments, but deserve them! Being able to take pieces from an existing collection and rework them into a completely reimagined idea is all the fun in the world of fashion today, so who are you to think you can just waste perfectly perfect pieces? Shame, shame, shame.
You know what we aren't going to do? Fall victim to the trend cycles of the fast fashion world. The culture of these ideas is ruining your mindset; it’s sealing the door of your closet shut and jam-packing all your staple pieces into forgotten balls of dust! So open that door and allow yourself to choose a new creative experience every day! There is nothing more with the times than feeling confident in classic pieces that are guaranteed to look killer anytime, anywhere.
Clothes are meant to have stories and memories attached to them, that is what makes them so beautiful. There is no room to let that slip away. Put those pants back on and do something crazy, give them the story they deserve, so the next time they are pulled out of the closet, they have even more of a charm than ever before.
Look, the bottom line is that you are supposed to wear the clothes, not the other way around. Play around with patterns, textures, accessories, and makeup. The outcomes are endless and will give your clothes a rebirth; those ever-important personal touches add the flare which your clothes crave!
Never again will the stigma around repeating an outfit prevail. Its out of style to think outfit repeating is out of style. The common notion that new is always better gets tossed out the window when the time comes to appreciate the classics. Who are you to think you are better than the queen of Vogue herself? Mmhmm, didn't think so. The opportunity has come to embrace repetition, routine, and clothing that make you feel good inside and out. So, never be caught up again!
This is just a warning. It’s time to dig out all the clothes that have fallen victim to fashion forgetters, work with what you got, repeat, repurpose, and reimagine.
